The program did not enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and did not train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) On 05/03/11 and at times prior thereto, employees were not trained to recognize fall hazards before performing re-roof activities on an 8 in 12 slope roof of a residential structure with a ground to eave height of 9.4 to 12.4 feet. No means of fall protection was utilized. Bottom layer was cedar shake. Note: Effective September 16, 2011 conventional methods for fall protection, per 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) shall be used. The alternative methods for fall protection in residential construction as described in STD 03-00-001 will no longer be acceptable. Note: Abatement certification IS required for this item
