29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels is not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: a) The employer does not ensure that employees use fall protection when exposed to serious fall hazards during wood frame construction activities. This condition was most recently observed at a new home construction site in the Sunny Ridge development on March 12, 2015 . Employees performed framing activities on a 5 in 12 pitched roof without a fall protection system in place. This exposed the employees to a 9 and a half foot fall to the concrete and ground below. Hammerheads, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 863504, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 5, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 2848 Windsong, Boise, ID. |
