29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite: On November 2, 2017 and at times prior thereto employees were installing plastic on a sheathed roof. No fall protection system was used. Fall hazards ranged from 23.3 feet to over 25 feet. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item. |

29 CFR 1926.502(b)(13): When guardrail systems are used around holes which are used as points of access (such as ladderways), they were not provided with a gate, or be so offset that a person cannot walk directly into the hole: a) Jobsite: On November 2, 2017 and at times prior thereto employees used an extension ladder through a floor opening for access to an attic area. This area was then used for access to the roof hatchway. A guardrail system was not in place around the floor opening. Employees were exposed to a 9 foot fall hazard. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item. |
