| Citation text line | 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level is not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. (a) The Employer does not ensure its workers are protected from serious fall hazards during construction activities. This violation was most recently observed at the construction of an engineered steel structure at 671 N. Yellowstone Hwy, Rigby, Idaho, on July 14, 2015. Employees were observed working at the peak of the roof without fall protection. The potential fall height from the peak was approximate 21 feet to gravel and materials storage below. There is no fall protection plan to deal with fall hazards and working near unprotected edges. Hansen Steel Construction LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1021115, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on 03/19/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 366 Dividend Drive, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. |
