TAS::80 0125::TAS RECOVERY - DEVELOPMENT OF A RISK ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK FOR DETECTING, PREDICTING AND MITIGATING AIRCRAFT MATERIAL INSPECTION RESEARCH FUNDED BY THE RECOVERY ACT WITHIN THE AVIATION SAFETY PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE TOOLS, CONCEPTS, METHODS, AND TECHNOLOGIES THAT WILL IMPROVE THE INTRINSIC SAFETY OF AIRCRAFT AND AVIATION OPERATIONS. THE GOAL OF THE AIRCRAFT AGING AND DURABILITY (AAD) PROJECT IS TO YIELD MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ANALYSIS AND CAPABILITIES THAT WILL ENABLE DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEM-LEVEL INTEGRATED METHODS FOR THE DETECTION, PREDICTION AND MANAGEMENT OF AGING-RELATED HAZARDS FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE AIRCRAFT. IN SUPPORT OF THESE EFFORTS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INVESTIGATE AND DOCUMENT A METHODOLOGY TO ESTABLISH RIGOROUS RISK-BASED MODELS FOR ASSESSING DAMAGE DETECTION CAPABILITY IN AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OPERATIONS (MRO ). |
