29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to Crystalline Silica in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits of crystalline silica, listed in Table Z-3, in excess of the time-weighted average permissible exposure limit: a) Fabrication shop: On or about February 26, 2013, and at times prior thereto, the eight-hour time weighted average (TWA) exposure to crystalline silica quartz for an employee dry grinding granite stone, was determined to be 1.093 milligrams per cubic meter of air (mg/m3) which was over the calculated Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.500 mg/m3 based on the samples silica content of 18%.
